Band Biography

RED LIGHT GREEN LIGHT writes infectious music, period. With a tunefulness all their own and a style you can't quite pinpoint, we can only imagine the torch they are running with might burn from the raging intensity and dynamicism of REFUSED, combined with a more sarcastic hip-hop approach a la BEASTIE BOYS and the DIY fun loving punk rock energy of fellow new jersey pioneers THE BOUNCING SOULS.

RED LIGHT GREEN LIGHT formed in August 2005 as the result of a spur of the moment jam session between five local friends in a basement in Rockaway, New Jersey. After only three practices, and without a band name, the five went and recorded a four song demo (the "Oh Shite Demo"). Three months later they put themselves in the studio to record there full length debut "Music Theory Is For Suckers." They then proceeded to tour the USA and Canada constantly the next 3 years, demoing material and finally recording there latest, and unfortunately final, highly anticipated record entitled "Everything Has Gone Wrong"....

Derek Reilly (vocals), Mike Nedo (bass/vocals), Alex Reilly
(keyboard), Dan Diaz (guitar) and John Maiello (drums) have been involved in the punk rock music scene for years and were upset with where it was going. "We are trying to remind kids that music and shows are about fun and a sense of community and not about beating each other up, what kind of jeans you have on and/or what record label your talking/signing to..." - Derek Reilly, RLGL singer.
